Why are beeswax candles so expensive?

It has been estimated that bees fly 530,000kms to yield a single kilogram of wax! The beekeeper only uses what is leftover from harvesting and can only obtain a small amount of beeswax from each hive. This makes it a very valuable product.

Why don't you add fragrance to your beeswax candles?

GASP! Firstly, beeswax has it's own natural honey scent. It may be subtle, but it's lovely none the less. Secondly, those candle fragrances may sound delicious, but they are full of nasty, toxic chemicals.

Why don't you add essential oils to your beeswax candles?

DOUBLE GASP! This is more about the essential oil than the beeswax. Essential oils have many therapeutic benefits, although, essential oils and candles are not at all compatible. Essential oils can burn and lose all of their therapeutic benefits when heated. It is also a very expensive way to add a fragrance to a candle. If you love the smell and benefits of essential oils, you should diffuse them instead. Beeswax on it's own has incredible benefits!

Why do you recommend displaying the candles in packaging in my store?

One word - DUST! Beeswax loves loves loves dust. Even in the most pristine homes and stores, beeswax will attract dust. And the surface is so tacky and rough that you can't just wipe it off, unfortunately. We also like to keep our packaging to environmentally friendly, so that rules out a see through plastic window. We adore our packaging - anything to protect our beauties.
